REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival ✶//ORANGENOISE || DUELECTRUM || DIGILITE || DAMASCUS✶

Hey Shoegaze People,

This is part 3 of the series to keep you informed about the upcoming Compilation REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival by Ear to Ear Records and Gerpfast Kolektif. It's presented by a lot of awesome Blogs and People I mentioned in part 2, however I forgot to mention Shameless PR (that's why I do it now!).
This time I will present to you 4 bands: //Orangenoise, Duelectrum, Digilite and Damascus. Check them out and I hope you're all as excited as I am.

//ORANGENOISE (Pakistan)

Loud guitars, ambiguous vocals and driving rhythms are the crux of the //orangenoise sound. Formed in early 2010, the band members' varied musical backgrounds create a saturated mix of electronic, garage and psychedelia straight from the dense heat of Karachi, Pakistan.

Taking their cues from shoegaze and 60's psychedelia, the band washes out the senses with their textured rhythms, while the mind floats freely with catchy hooks embedded deep into their airy vocals.

Simply put, //orangenoise is an old machine from the past, modded for the present.

Duelectrum is a shoegaze/noise pop band from São Paulo, Brazil, formed by Filipe Albuquerque (guitars), Franklin Weise (bass) and Elson Barbosa (drums), who also plays bass guitar in the super indie post-rock group Herod.

As a duo (Filipe e Franklin), Duelectrum independently released the "Duelectr1" EP in 2001, which is now out of print. The "Electrolândia" EP was released in 2008 by Pisces Records and Sinewave.

Sinewave released the "Tempestadestelar" EP, which contains songs recorded between 2002 and 2005, in 2002, as well as the single "Chocolate Love" in 2008. In August 2014, the band released "She Doesn't Feel the Sun" (EP), with a guest appearance by Lucas Lippaus (Herod, Hopping to Collide With, S.O.M.A.) on guitars.

Digilite is a band from Bandung, Indonesia, which was founded on 21 August 2007.
This band explores various genre, including Alternative Rock, Shoegaze, Dreampop, Indie Rock, Brit Pop, and New Prog.

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, this band has built their sounds from the rough side of 90s shoegaze bands, similar like Swervedriver, Ride, Catherine Wheel, etc. Fuzz, reverb, wah, and tremolo, blends into one package.

They believe shoegaze is all about rock n roll, not suicidal tones. They are into fuzz, tremolo, feedback, and stage diving.

Their influences include bands and guitar work from the likes of Kevin Shields, Adam Franklin, Thurston Moore, J Mascis, and Brad Laner.

REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival ✶REV REV REV || STELLA DIANA || SPOOL✶

Hey Shoegaze People.

This is part 2 of the blog serie about REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival. Check out this 3 awesome bands. Rev Rev Rev and Stella Diana from Italy and all-girl-band Spool from Japan.
I hope you enjoy their music and get to know them a little bit better.
I'm very excited to be part of the whole promoting process among other awesome blog, radio stations and wonderful people, such as The Record Stache or The Primal Music Blog and DKFM Shoegaze Radio, trying to make this as big as it can be. Because Shoegaze is back (even though it never left) and we are loud!

Hailing from Modena, Italy, Rev Rev Rev’s sound is influenced by first-wave shoegaze, as well as psychedelic rock, re-metabolizing these elements into a loud, woozy, fuzz-driven context. Their live sets comprise kaleidoscopic video projections waving with music, and the use of self-constructed stomp boxes, producing weird sounds.

The band formed in the summer of 2011. The release of their debut EP "Hypnagogic Visions" the following year quickly caught the attention of independent webzines and radio stations across Italy.

Stella Diana was formed in Naples in 1998. They are one of the few bands in Italy offering a blend of shoegaze with new wave and post-punk. They have firmly found their sound somewhere between Ride, Joy Division, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and The Chameleons...

After releasing ‘Supporto Colore’ (2007) and ‘Gemini’ (2011), which were well received by music critics, they toured around Italy several times and also abroad. In 2014, they released the LP ‘41. 61. 93’, representing a perfect synthesis of distorted guitars and dilated sounds.

4. SPOOL (Japan)

Spool is a Japanese shoegaze girls band, formed in 2011 in Saitama Tokyo, Japan. Bands they admire include Spitz (Japan), My Bloody Valentine, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Deer Hunter, Washed Out, and M83.

REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival ✶INTRODUCTION || JAGUWAR✶

Hey Shoegaze People,

Today there's a new blog series starting. For the next weeks I will constantely inform you about a very amazing project. Maybe you already heared about the compilation: REVOLUTION - The Shoegaze Revival by Ear to Ear Records and the indonesian label Gerpfast Kolektif.

The idea is to present a part of the 'new wave' shoegaze scene with 30 Bands from 16 countries from 5 continents. You won't here any cover versions of famous Shoegaze bands. Instead you will be able to listen to a modern version of Shoegaze with innovative new sounds, energy and passion.
The Compilation will be released on 11th of february 2015 via Ear to Ear Records and Gerpfast Kolektif Bandcamp.

DKFM created a video trailer for the compilation.

Three people fell in love over noisy soundscapes and purple stars. Influenced by too many coffee and cigarettes while listening to My Bloody Valentine Vinyls in the dark they put together fuzzy reverb guitars with punk rock attitude.

In June 2014 the first EP 'I' came out to show the world how sugar noise can be. It was released on June 13, 2014 via Pinmusik - Pretty In Noise Netlabel.

I ♥ Shoegaze | January I

Hey Shoegaze People.
I hope you all came well into 2015.
Unfortunately I was not able to run this blog how I wanted to do it last year, as there was a lot going on with my own band and booking and stuff. However I want to change that. That's why I'm looking for someone to help me with writing, so you won't miss any noisy greatness that's out there anymore. I will keep you updated about this.

I promised to do a new I <3 Shoegaze. So check out these awesome bands I found or were introduced to me by all of you amazing people with amazing taste in music. Haha.
So I hope you'll find you're new favorite Shoegaze band here.
So enjoy some cool music and stay being as awesome as you are.

First one I want to introduce to you is amazing White Blush from L.A. aka Carol Rhyu.
A very talented artist experimenting with ambient, drone and gazy sounds. Influenced by electronic music you could call it synthie-shoegaze. I love her and her music so check her out everywhere (Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube).

Next in the line are Baker Island from UK: A very cool combination of postpunk and fuzzy indie pop sounds. Theyare pretty new in the business and already managed to release this magical little 3-song EP. Very lovely.

An other cool artist which came to my ears is Nick Petakas from the US. I fell in love with his music right away. It's deep and soft and his voice is so touching. Just wonderfull. Very great tremolo work and you definetely hear wher it is all coming from. You hear Ride, you hear MBV. All the songs on this EP are amazing but the last one 'TESSIO' is my number one.

Maquninas from Brazil released a 3-track EP in summer last year. I love their minimalistic drums and the dynamic in the songs. They can be quiet, they can be loud. I'm sure they can do everything they want to, so keep an eye or two on this 4 guys. And by the way: some great artwork!

And we get to Black Static Line from the US. They call themself a Space Rock band. But they are more I guess. I hear some Slowdive, some Cocteau Twins. They do a lot of dreamy slow-tempo reverb songs. Kind of drony and some long instrumental parts. So if you wanna sink in deep and feel like you are out in the sea and listening to the noises of the water and the fishes, the sadness and quietness all at ones - I'm sure you'll find it in Black Static Line.

And then there's Daydreaming. Oh my gosh that's some awesome stuff. They are a canadian Postpunk band. 4 people, a girl on bass guitar. Perfect match. They are wild and loud and you can get them on tape. What can someone want more? Nothing! So get it!

Next next next: New Material, also from Canada. They are poppy and lovely, more indie pop then shoegaze but it makes me happy to listen to them so check them out and feel like it is a good day.

So I guess we'll stay in Canada for a while. There's this band called Soft Wounds from Toronto. Some guys who fell in love with Shoegaze. So am I. They released a demo in November last year and man they are on a good way. The made an interview with The Blog That Celebrates itself. You can check it out here.

I'm not sure if I already told you about the new Star Horse Song 'Spend the night'?! However I'm in love witht his lovely people from Stockholm, Sweden. I had the opportunaty to meet them and welcome them for a show in my hometwon Dresden together with Follow the Sea. I pretty much love everything they do and they are amazing live and just really nice people. And 'Spend the night' is one of my new favorite Songs.
